MARITIME LAW ASSOCIATION (UAE) NPIO
OUR MISSION
Navigating Unity, Advancing Maritime Law in the UAE.
The Maritime Law Association (UAE) NPIO, or UAE MLA, serves as an impartial network of maritime law experts dedicated to supporting the government on crucial maritime law matters. Our primary objective is to advance and unify maritime and mercantile law within the UAE and globally. Collaborating closely with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, we aim to enhance the UAE's maritime and DIFC ship finance sectors, fostering cooperation among maritime lawyers, port operators, shipping lines, ship owners, and traders.

Emphasizing the significant role of the UAE in the maritime sector, the UAE MLA strives to advocate for national and global maritime interests. We aim to contribute to drafting maritime regulations across the UAE and participate in committees to achieve uniform implementation. EMLA is affiliate with the Comite Maritime International (CMI), establishing representation for the UAE in this influential international body.

As a non-profit organization, the UAE MLA extends membership to all maritime professionals in the UAE, functioning as a neutral entity to advance the field of maritime law. To support this mission, we will disseminate information on maritime and mercantile law, curate relevant publications, and organize conferences, symposiums, networking events, workshops, and training seminars. Collaborating closely with the Ministry, our aim is to ensure the adoption of industry best practices within the maritime sector.
